How to study Study smart not Hard

Teachers and parents always advise us to study hard, but never told us how to. Very little time is devoted to teaching students to break down the course into manageable chunks. As a consequence, we face many problems. So here are some smart ways:--

  • Eliminate the black holes: -- Do not spend your hours with gaining nothing. Remove all the black hole. Like if you spend your 2 hours for playing video games. Minimize your time to one hour and spend the remaining one hour for effective studying. You will surely get advantage of this.
  • Pomodoro Technique: -- Humans can not focus on a single task efficiently for too long. So the solution is to use this technique. Invented by Francisco Carrillio after getting inspired by a kitchen equipement. There are five basic steps to implement this technique:--

1. Decide on the task. 2. Set your timer to 35 minutes. 3. Work on the task for 35 minutes with no distractions. 4. Take a break from 3 to 5 minutes. Then move to the next task for similar time spans. 5. Complete four such tasks and then take a long break of about 15 to 30 minutes.

Boom! You will be surprised to see your work will be done more effectively.

  • PQRST Method: -- It is a technique which is named after its five steps.

1. Preview: --  First step is to scan the chapter. This means reading the chapter outline and giving attention to the heading and subheading  of each section.

2. Question: -- Second step is to question yourself  by framing questions for you from heading and subheading.

3.Read: -- Read the chapter and find answers to the questions that you framed.

4.Self Recite: -- Close the book and try to self recite the key points of each section and subsection to yourself.

5. Test: -- The last step is to test yourself by attempting to answer the question which is provided to you at the back of the chapter. It is important for you to understand the number of key issues you can recall for the chapter you have read.

If you follow these methods properly I bet you will surely achieve your goals and you will face no difficulty in learning any chapter.
